Arthroscopy is a surgical technique that allows visualization of the inside of a joint using a high-definition camera (arthroscope) introduced through a 5 mm mini-incision. Dedicated surgical instruments, inserted through other mini-incisions, repair tendon, ligament, meniscal or cartilage lesions without a wide open approach.
Dr Charousset performs 100% of shoulder surgery arthroscopically, including complex procedures such as massive cuff tear repair, shoulder stabilization and coracoid bone-block procedures, and most knee surgery for ligament (ACL), meniscal and cartilage lesions.
As instructor for the French Arthroscopy Society (SFA) and member of the ESSKA scientific committee, Dr Charousset teaches these techniques to surgeons worldwide through congresses, cadaver courses and advanced training programs.
Discreet scars, nearly invisible after healing.
Reduced tissue trauma, optimized pain management with regional anesthesia.
Rehabilitation started on day 1, faster functional recovery than open surgery.
Same-day discharge for the vast majority of procedures.
HD camera providing a joint view superior to open surgery.
Less tissue exposure, significantly reduced infection risk.
Dr Charousset assesses in consultation whether an arthroscopic approach is appropriate for your condition, expectations and activity level.
